CONSOLIDATED ELECTRIC CO-OP RESPONDS
TO RELIEF EFFORTS
Mt. Gilead, OH- Consolidated Electric Cooperative, Inc. dispatched crews to assist with storm relief missions to Nolan Rural Electric Cooperative in Kentucky and American Electric Power in southern Ohio. Additionally, a crew has just returned from assisting Washington Electric Cooperative in Marietta, Ohio. A major winter storm hit heaviest in these areas last week - resulting in ice accumulation significant enough to cause widespread power outages.
Consolidated president Jerry Lauer states “We know the amount of work required to restore power to a single residence in the wake of a storm. Restoring power is a laborious task. We have faced many of these obstacles ourselves at Consolidated Electric in similar storms.”
Consolidated, in their commitment to communities, has always offered assistance to neighboring systems and to other states in times of crisis. “We were thankful for the help we received during our major outages, and we are proud to be able to offer our assistance to those who are in need. It’s about neighbor helping neighbor. That’s the cooperative way of doing business”, concludes Lauer.
