Consolidated board names Jerry Lauer as new CEO

Consolidated Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors announced the
selection of Jerry Lauer as Consolidated’s new president and CEO,
effective May 19, 2008.

Jerry has extensive utility experience and has worked at Dakota
Electric Association, an electric cooperative in Minnesota, for 12
years. Prior to Dakota Electric, he was at Xcel Energy for 15 years.

He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from St. Cloud
State University, an MBA from the University of Minnesota, and
completed the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s
Management Internship Program in 2005

"We are very pleased to have Jerry join the Consolidated family,"
Board Chairman Richard Carter said. "His experience in the electric
industry will benefit all of our member-owners."

Jerry and his wife, Lynn, have been married for 31 years. They have two children.
