Funding Received
Thanks to the generosity of members who participate in Operation Round Up, much good has been done in the community through the funds awarded from the People Fund. Below is a listing of some awards granted for 2002-2004.

2004

  • Marion Goodwill Industries – $5,000 to help provide vehicles for the Good Wheels program. 
  • Recovery Alternative School - $3,000 to help defray some of the costs of transportation, lodging and food for students and staff to attend the Pride Youth Conference.
  • Delaware County Habitat for Humanity - $5,000 for signage, flyers, a computer and copier to start up Restore, a facility that sells reusable building materials. 
  • The Ohio State University at Marion - $1,000 to market Chautauqua, an educational program, to residents of counties outside Marion county, including Delaware and Morrow counties.
  • Buckeye Valley High School - $500 to help defray the cost of their annual Christmas luncheon and program for over 400 senior citizens in the community. 
  • Delaware County Cultural Arts Center - $5,000 to help pay some of the costs to renovate the Painting & Drawing studio. 
  • Bright Beginnings Preschool - $1,125 to purchase educational teaching resources and materials to start up the new preschool in the Marengo area.
  • Individual - $2,500 to help defray some of the cost of a used van with a wheelchair lift for a disabled individual who has multiple sclerosis.
  • Delaware County American Red Cross - $5,000 to help expand the Basic Aid Training for first aid to 4th through 6th graders in the county.
  • Heritage Day Health Centers - $1,000 for construction of an interior (key padded) half gate at the day care center in Delaware to ensure the safety and security of clients.
  • Centerburg Baseball Softball Little League Association - $2,000 to help purchase and install lights at the Centerburg Memorial Park ball field.  
  • Senior Services for Independent Living of Delaware County - $600 for memory journals for Senior Companion clients and home care clients to record events of their life for family members.
  • Individual - $600 for a computer for a grandson whom the grandparent home schools due to the child’s disabilities. 
  • Sunbury/Big Walnut Chamber of Commerce - $2,825 to fund the purchase of a computer, software and website design in order to create a website for the Chamber.
  • Hartford Volunteer Fire Department - $799 for a multi-gas detector and $1,245 for a CPAP device to help those experiencing congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema or asthma. 
  • Child - $450 for 10 weeks of therapy for a three-year-old child who has spastic quad cerebral palsy. 
  • The Disciple Shop - $5,000 to help defray badly needed renovations to this facility that helps clothe those in need. 
  • Literacy Coalition of Delaware County - $900 to help purchase bookshelves for books currently stored in boxes 
  • Delaware County Friends of the Trail - $4,480 to pay for fencing to help expand the multi-purpose trail going through Delaware County near Sunbury Ohio. 
  • Delaware City Schools - $750 to help implement an oral-motor/sensory integration treatment program for children in grades five through eight in Delaware County. 
  • Westerville Division of Fire - $261 to help purchase infant car seats for those that participate in the infant seat education/installation program. 
  • Individual - $1,000 to help defray the cost of a husband’s cremation expenses for an individual in financial need, who is also raising a grandchild. 
  • Mt. Gilead Fire Department - $1,600 to purchase an automatic electric defibrillator unit that can help save the life of someone experiencing a heart attack. 
  • Helpline of Delaware & Morrow Counties - $5,000 to purchase a refurbished copier and a laptop computer in order to provide training workshops for volunteers and organizations in the community. 
  • Fort Morrow Consolidated Fire District - $2,000 to purchase a generator and portable lights so the fire department has lighting to response to night emergencies better.

2003

  • $4,800 to Morrow County MRDD for two automatic electronic defibrillators and cabinets
  • $500 to an individual for a refrigerator and food
  • $3,000 to Fort Morrow Consolidated Fire District for an air cascade system
  • $4,000 to Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center to open an autism unit in Morrow County
  • $450 to an individual child for therapeutic equestrian riding lessons
  • $400 to an individual for a refrigerator
  • $4,350 to Delaware County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program for child advocate service
  • $1,750 to the Andrews House to help with network/software for their Computer Learning Center
  • $2,302 to Morrow County Health Department for two automatic electronic defibrillators
  • $4,000 to Centerburg Board of Education to help build a community wellness center
  • $4,000 to Delaware County American Red Cross for emergency vehicle
  • $1,000 for five children to attend Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center
  • $4,000 for the Hartford County Jr. Fair building construction
  • $3,000 to Helpline for two computers for their Connections Volunteer Center
  • $3,500 to Mount Gilead Fire Department for thermal imaging camera
  • $1,120 to Marengo United Methodist Church for basketball hoops for family center
  • $497 to Morrow County Park District Board for park signage
  • $2,500 to Reach Out and Read Ohio for expansion of program to Morrow County

2002

  • $3,500 to Big Walnut Joint Fire District for two automatic electronic defibrillators
  • $2,898 to Central Ohio Joint Fire District for an air cascade system
  • $2,500 to Turning Point to expand and open an office in Delaware
  • $1,971 to Wornstaff Memorial Library for “Kits for Kids” program (experiments & learning projects)
  • $127 to an individual for new breaker box (fire hazard)
  • $1900 to an individual for gas furnace (gas disconnected; no heat; in the winter)
  • $2,000 to Senior Citizens of Delaware County for a fire suppression system for kitchen
  • $1,500 to Delaware County Jobs & Family Services SPIN program (transportation services for singles)
  • $1,000 to Jonah’s First Grade Project to expand program to Morrow County
  • $3,000 to “No Limits” of Morrow County for appliances for drop-in center
  • $4,000 to Marion Goodwill for partial cost of a truck
