Funding Received
Thanks to the generosity of members who participate in Operation Round Up, much good has been done in the community through the funds awarded from the People Fund. Below is a listing of some of the awards made to date.
2006
- $500 to the Northmor Local School District to send ten students from Johnsville Elementary School’s MH Unit to therapy classes at Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center.
- $5,000 to The Council for Older Adults- Funding will be used to support the critical service of home delivered meals.
- $5,000 to the Fredericktown Joint Emergency Ambulance District to help fund a generator receptacle for the emergency shelter.
- $1400 Whetstone Industries- funds will be utilized to purchase a shed and two portable container for newspaper drop off sites for individuals who do not have recycling service.
- $2500 Ohio Chautauqua in Delaware- Funds are to assist in the marketing of The Ohio Chautauqua.
- $90 to the Hartford Volunteer Fire Department- The funds will be used to assist the fire department in distributing “File of Life” cards to the residents that they serve.
- $5,000 to the Morrow County Health Coalition- Funding will be used to purchase t-shirts and pedometers for over 500 participants at the kick-off event of the Morrow in Motion Campaign.
- $5,000 to the Common Ground Free Store Ministries- Funds will be used for initial start-up costs for the renovation and preparation of the Common Ground Free Store.
- $5000 to I CAN Go To College- Funds will be used for regional expansion in Delaware and Morrow Counties, and to purchase books, notebooks, inserts, brochures, and access center supplies.
- $5,000 to The Literacy Coalition ofDelaware County for the“Lunch Buddies” program at BuckeyeValley Elementary School.
- $2,500 to Delaware CreativeHousing, Inc.for the purchase of a landscapetrailer.
- $3,700 to the FredericktownCommunity Library to purchase computers, printers, and a digital camera for their expansion oftheir community computer lab.
2005
- $661 to Grady Memorial Hospital for bleachers for Kids Safety Scene at the Delaware Joint Vocational School.
- $1,100 to Buckeye Valley School District for AED cabinets for each of the five school buildings.
- $1,500 to Andrews House for a tape media backup and five tapes to backup computer files.
- $3,000 to an individual for repairs to a mobile home providing the structure can be repaired.
- $1,750 to Recovery and Prevention Resources of Delaware/Morrow County for 25 Freedom from Smoking kits and 25 Nicotine Replacement vouchers.
- $4,797 to Delaware Speech and Hearing for equipment (computer, software, swing and more) for the Exceptional Children’s Autism Scholarship program.
- $4,850 to Morrow County Historical Society for the installation of a handicap-accessible ramp and porch entrance.
- $4,018 to the Ohio Retreat Center to replace water heaters and a waterline.
- $4,500 to Selover Public Library to fund wireless access point, projector and notebook computer.
- $140 to Morrow County MRDD for two glucometer units and test strips.
- $2,500 to Morrow County Agricultural Society to purchase paint for three buildings on the fairgrounds.
- $2,265 to the Village of Edison to fund the purchase of an emergency siren controller.
- $3,750 to the Community Library of Sunbury for five laptop computers to provide computer training to patrons in the library’s classroom.
- $3,160 to the Humane Society of Morrow County for 10 kennels and 10 portable crates for the Society’s animal shelter.
- $1,332 to the Northmor Local School District for 360 bicycle helmets used in conjunction with a bicycle safety program.
- $900 to the Prairie Nature Center at the Ohio State University in Marion to replace picnic tables that were destroyed by arson.
- $705 to Morrow County Community Action for a freezer and shelving units for the food pantry.
- $5,000 to the Delaware General Health District helped provide for a mascot to promote a new program on food safety and education.
- $1,026 to Girl Scout Troop 1991 for funds to help promote their “Health Awareness Fair”.
- $4,000 to Gilead Christian School for their resource program supplies.
- $4,000 to the Clothes Closet to purchase clothes, racks, hangers, shelves, storage bins, computer, and lumber to build dressing rooms.
- $2,500 to The Arts Castle to replace a skylight and refinish a damaged ballroom floor.
- $1,000 to The Arc of Morrow County for the Walk-n-Roll-athon.
- $2,500 to the Johnsville Fire Department for the insulation of a metal pole building.
- $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity for the purchase of a new tool trailer.
