| Be part of the nearly 1,500 high school students from across the nation for a fun-filled week in Washington! Every year Consolidated Electric sponsors two students on a supervised, all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC. The electric cooperative Youth Tour has brought high school students to Washington, DC every June since the late 1950s. The 2011 Youth Tour is scheduled for June 15-21 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Va.
While on tour you can visit:
Gettysburg, WWII Memorial, The Smithsonian, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, National Cathedral, Capitol Hill, Arlington National Cemetary and so much more!
How are finalists chosen?
The competition consists of reviewing a study booklet, completing a short take-home test and participating in an interview. To request an application and guidelines contact youthtour@conelec.com
What are entry requirements?
You must be a high school sophomore or junior, and your parents or legal guardian must be members of an Ohio electric cooperative. Selected students should be energetic and eager to make the most out of this fun opportunity to learn! The deadline for entry is March 1, 2012.
